2010-2014 Carroll High School Drama

More changes for Carroll Drama from 2010-2015:

Since 2010, many updates have been made behind the scenes. With help from Jack Glaser (69) much needed equipment has been obtained. Jack was instrumental in acquiring funding to replace the original light board, stage lights, sound equipment and stage curtains. Jack volunteers his time backstage as Technical Director.

2013: Drama Club member and Boy Scout, Nathan Price, took on the job of remodeling the costume room for his Eagle Scout project. With many student volunteers, the floor was replaced, room painted, shelves built, clothing cataloged and air conditioner replaced. Also, a storage barn was built by Nicholas Weitz (87) to store the flats, furniture, and props and clean off the stage. This was a much needed improvement! Melissa Fisher retired from directing and Diane Walters (04) joined Toni Weitz in directing the Freedom Players.

2014: Carroll Drama took on a third performance this one a January Talent Competition! "Carrolls Call for Talent" premiered as a huge success! Cash prizes were given for the top 5 contenders. Judges included past Carroll Alumni who are involved in the arts professionally or personally. 2009 Carroll Drama Alumnus, Noah Rauch, was the Emcee.

Since 2013, Drama has grown into a year round club instead of only doing a play and musical. There is a membership drive at the start of the school year, and many workshops and field trips to area theaters are offered. Some popular workshops included Stage Makeup, Audition Techniques and improv sessions by Black Box Improv. T-shirts are included with membership, and there are trips to New York City and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Performance opportunities include the Fall Play, Winter Talent Competition, and Spring Musical.
